Wooo....creepy. except that the range of surviellance is only 60 ft. That's weird that Nike didn't adress that problem while the product was being developed tho.
What problem, exactly?

iThink that it will be named iLife Leopard (or something similar).
The Apple Consumers response would be something like this:
iLife '02, iLife '03, iLife '04, iLife '05, iLife '06, iLife '08...Wait, whoa slow down, WHERE THE HELL IS ILIFE '07????? For God's ********** Sake, you HAVE to have iLife '07!!
And Apple would try to fix it like this:
We don't have iLife '07, we don't have iLife '08, Hmmmm...What could we call it? [...] I know!!!! iLife Leopard and for the same matter iWork Leopard!
Hip, Hip, Hooray!! Wooooo!!:D

They should have add Wi-Fi, up the 400 Model to HDMI, 120GB Harddrive, then give the core 20Gb harddrive and Wi-Fi, and no HDMI. None of this werid 3rd SKU...still better then no Xbox 360 improvement, plus the kept the low end so I can buy what I want.
That's a great set of ideas, but if Microsoft did that it would imply that they actually have a brain or two and they clearly don't.
"I think and hope that people are going to understand. There is as price for being an early adopter and your points and feelings are valid (Penello said when referring to gamers IGN suggested would be angry about the new system). But whenever you innovate and change, you have to face this situation. Your same old system is still perfectly valid."
"We could never have done this before, to bring HMDI and 120 GB to the system when we launched in 2005. The reason we didn't do it before was because the HDMI standard wasn't complete. It takes time to develop these things. We started the console earlier than Sony did and when the HDMI standard wasn't done. At the time we were developing, this stuff was in transition."
******* off you couldn't have in HDMI in 2005. MS really irks me with this move. I wanted a god damn HDMI port....
This is such an obvious attempt to play the whole "lets match Sony" game. I mean come on, lets make it black (like PS3), with HDMI (like PS3) AND OMG 120GB HDD! IT's teh bigger than Sony!
um...but you can buy any old hard drive for a PS3, whereas your 120GB drive is almost $200 bucks...
Yep...I agree wholeheartedly.
Their excuses are laughable.
I hope my (recently RoD fixed) 360 doesn't break down after the 1yr warranty is up because if it does, I may spend my money elsewhere (ie Ps3 if I don't already own one) where at least I know I won't be nickel-and-dimed.
After this fiasco, I don't think I'll be spending much money in the XBLM anymore. I spent (roughly) $5 on 3 UFC videos (including Liddell-Ortiz 1) and for my trouble, I have 4gigs free on my 12g HD. (I say 12g since that's all they give us on a "20g HD".)

Billions?
You know, if you believe that people are out to get you long enough, eventually they will be.
Perhaps they find this position to be useful, somehow?
As for One of One Billion (me), I care not a whit who gets in my car.

Exactly. Its basically a very close proximity detector.
What you see here is classic:
1) iPod is famous
2) I want to be famous
3) Tell the media the iPod will help stalkers kill you
4) Profit
I don't think I've ever heard of "Far Proximity"........since the definition of "Proximity" is "Close to".
So "Close Proximity" basically means "Close Close".

Wait a minute...I think I see your problem. Just click once on you document folder and it will open very quickly.
what you are doing is simulating a right click (Click and hold the button down). this will bring up a Start menu-like interface).. I think if you right click this will happen instantly, too.... (or maybe it's option-click...I'm not on my mac at the moment, unfortunately). There is SUPPOSED to be a delay when you click and hold like that.
I've never seen Finder slow... and I'm on the same machine as you are.
(of course I may have completely misread this and be totally wrong, in which case I would ask what apps you have open, how much memory is on the machine, etc.)
No, I already knew to cntl-click. I originally meant right click on the documents folder. I guess I have a lot of folders because it takes mine forever to open. I have 1 GB of ram and things do get sanppier once something is cached but it is still painfully slow.
It also takes awhile for my system to open windows with many folders or files in them.
I have always thought OS X finder was slow. OS 9 always seemed snappier and windows has a much snappier GUI. I am just hoping that Leopard fixes these issues.

Can you explain why no ink, no paper, and no army of delivery guys would still cost the same as digital distribution? Even with Apple's 30% and the bandwidth cost of shipping thousands of 10mb magazines, it'd still work out cheaper for users and make a profit for the company.
It costs right around $1 per magazine to print, design and mail for very large circulations. Magazine not newspaper. Take out the printing and mailing and you're probably looking at about $.75 costs. Sell it for $.99 on the ITMS and Apple takes $.33 and they lose money. Magazines have very little wiggle room price wise.

Riiiight. And how, may i ask, do you suggest that will happen? First you want to give it back to the palestinians (who are mostly not christian), and now you want to make it a christian state. make up your mind buddy. If it were a christian state you would still have to take the land from the palestinians.
Judaism, according to their main bible, the Talmud is the reason why they treat people the way they do.. Once you destroy the Talmud and Judaism and fill the love with Christ, the rest will follow. Palestinians are normal human beings with feelings and souls.. but to the zionist, ravaging jews they are animals - ready to be sent to the slaughterhouse. Really, if Jews stop with their obsession of money, power and greed and finally repent as a nation before God, then things will change..
Remember that there is neither jew nor gentile through Christ. But, you will also know that if Israel becomes a Christian State.. it will treat unto others how they want to be treated - in a brotherly love, and not hatefulness.

Given the rain and the lack of headway England made today I'd expect to see the Aussies try to play through tomorrow and stack up a few runs, then try to skittle England out in a day on Monday, weather permitting.
This means the game is heading for an Aussie win or a draw.
If England can get amongst the wickets early, cause a bit of consternation in the Aussie tail and restrict them to a modest lead then the target becomes too small to protect and England can bat through for the draw or leave the Aussies too big a target to reach in the last couple of hours.
I'm still forecasting a draw, but hopefully with some cracking cricket on the way.

OK, I have figured out the my Eyetv confusion that I had earlier - evidently it wasn't working because I still had a titan TV account from when I first got the device. Anywho, everything is working almost wonderfully! I am able to connect on multiple wifi networks....EXCEPT for the fact that there is no sound. No matter what I do - on my home network or on my friend's - I cannot get sound delivered to the iPhone. The phone's other system sounds work fine, so I know it's not something else. I have already tried deleting and reinstalling too. Additionally, I do sometimes drop sound with my mac's Eyetv and have to quit and restart the application to get it back - does anybody have any idea if that's related somehow?
I'm so confused :confused::confused:
When you tried re-installing, is that the EyeTV app itself on your mac? If so, did you ensure the eyetv was unplugged, and removing all traces eg: preference files as well, incase they are corrupt?
Seems like because you are getting dropped sound on your desktop app, that their is an underlying problem their in the first place.
Let us know how you get on.

Who is going to pay for news these days?
Tony
I think people will pay for 'news' when they realize that they're actually paying for reporting. What passes for 'news' for free online is often just crap.

jon stewart, or should i say Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz, is not funny and is an unintelligent, illogical, emotional child. anything funny he says on his show is no doubt written by a team of young writers. he is famous for being a clown.
Yes, because if there is one unifying thread of Jon Stewart's media image, it is that he hides his Jewish heritage.
Seriously, what the hell?

Hello,
I don't want to start a Mac/PC/Hackintosh debate. Yet what those hackintosh prove is that Apple is charging a "Mac Pro tax" of around 1000$, +/- a few hundreds depending on configuration. Even if that tax was only 500$ +/- a few hundreds, the question remains: why?
Now don't answer that it's the general Apple tax. How can Apple sell the iMac, which offers very good power (some even rivalling the MP), very good graphics on everything but the base model, an incredible display, more RAM than the base MP model, for a very very good price? Add to that the fact that iMac are rumored to be upgraded in the next few days/weeks with Sandy Bridge.
So again, why does Apple charge that MP tax?

Does this also apply to the late 2008/early 2009 white macbook? Or am I still limited to 4GB?
Edit: Nevermind. Reread again saw that the article stated alum Macbooks. I guess I just got a little excited there. At first glance, thought the artice was talking about all Macbooks in general...

There are "steam" achievements but I know those don't add to your xbox achievement points. I'm sure the experience is all the same, but I had to get it on PC/Mac even though I have an xbox. All my friends have gotten it on PC or PS3, either way we can play together via steamworks. Xbox guys are going to be lonely hehe

Apple will be suffering without Steve. Everyone but, well, he and Wozniak seems to be terminally corporate. Jobs is a strange bastard, though. He gets the biggest laughs because he generally seems to be so damned humorless and hateful :P Charismatic, yes. Complicated, yes. But no one's ever accused him of being a pleasant man to be around.
And don't forget that this change has been a long curve. Can you imagine this Jobs sitting across the table from you with his bare feet on the table, saying "Are you a virgin? Have you ever dropped LSD?"
He's definitely unique, though, and he'll never be replaced. I hate to say it, especially since (as I've already said) I don't think I'd like him personally.... but when he's gone, I will really be surprised if Apple continues with this current brilliance.
Just.... no more Scullys, Steve. Get another shaman.
