Today's shot is a place I bet many of you didn't know existed. It is a "tourist/post card" picture, but I wanted to use it anyway just to see how many recognize it.
Well, considering you have posted a few shots from Hop-town, I am about 99.999% sure where it is, but I'll play along and see if anyone else has a guess. I may just have a slightly unfair advantage, even though I have never been to this site specifically ;)
The Cherokee Memorial Park in Hopkinsville, KY, is where Chief Whitepath and Fly Smith, a clan leader, are buried. This site was one of the ration stops along the Trail of Tears.

This is a really powerful shot. Great composition. I think the only thing that could make it better would perhaps be a little fill flash on the statues. I've really been enjoying your work. Just curious, if you don't mind me asking, what brought you to Hopkinsville? That's quite a ways from Atlanta.

Why, my friend, by "the iPod is Apple's cash cow", you imply that there is only one cash cow. But if you want to use the traditional definition (http://www.dict.org/bin/Dict?Form=Dict2&Database=*&Query=cash+cow) of "cash cow", "a project that generates a continuous flow of money," then the Mac would be more of a cash cow than the iPod, because it has always represented a larger proportion of Apple's profits and revenues. Not once has the iPod represented more of Apple's revenues. So the Mac generates a larger continuous flow of money.
Not sure what set of rules of logic you are using, but either way you are wrong. The Mac is still more important to Apple's bottom line than the iPod. Apple is also innovating more on the Mac than with the iPod.

Emphasis mine. Let's put corn ethanol for vehicle fuel and soy biodiesel aside for a minute. You may be shocked when you find out how much corn and other food is given to livestock to bulk them up for human consumption as meat. It's quite possibly the most inefficient calorie conversion we humans can conjure-- just because we like meat too g**d*** much.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a loss leader nor would I be surprised if different retailers had different costs associated with the products they sell. The local gas station, Wal-mart, and Costco typically don't pay the same price for the products they sell and I don't see why the online retail game would be any different.
It would seem unusual to give a company with 10% of the revenue at least 35% rebate over a company with 90% of the revenue. This looks very much anti-competitive to me.
I wish iTunes had $0.69 downloads. :(
They have even much cheaper downloads sometimes; I suspect some were pricing mistakes. The iTunes LP "Plastic Beach" by Gorillaz was �1.69 (18 songs, one video + extras), probably a mistake :-) "24 Hour of Classical Music" is exactly that for �7.99.
With amazon, I didn't have to pay the sales tax (not really Apple's fault), plus the item's price was 150$ cheaper than MSRP.

Can I start a post thats about how Im anxiously awaiting the END of all these "when is the new iMac coming out" threads?
I really really want to get onto the next set of never ending threads that will go something like this:
"should I get the 21" X.XX Ghz i5 or the 27" X.XX Ghz i3?"
And then everyone will get to ask "what are you going to do with it?"
and then all of the "I love the large 27" screen" and of course "I had to return the 27" screen it was too big!" And the "more cores is better" or the silly goofball with the "I think a larger Ghz number means its faster".
and then we can move on to all of the "Is 4 gigs of ram enough or should I get more?" threads

Just like quitting smoking is dead easy for some people but really difficult for others? My gran after 50+ years of chain smoking just simply stopped. She says she had no problem, just didn't feel like spending to money anymore. I smoke about 5 cigs a day since the age of 13 and still struggling to quit.
IMHO it is all about desire and willpower. I, too, smoked from the time I was 13, and did it for 25 years. I tried to quit many times, and mostly just got hooked on nicotine gum/lozenges instead for a few months at a time. Finally, a few years ago, the motivation and environment matched up and I said "screw this." Smoke-free ever since, and while I will probably always be super-sensitive to the smell of a nice burning tobacco leaf, I really am done with it. Good luck with your own battle.

It's none of my business... until it starts affecting me, via pitching in for your eventual treatment or having butts thrown at me or onto my property.

Don't discount microsoft - they have money to lose for years in trying to get #1 for MP3 - slowly they creep up and overturn Apple - apple doesn't ahve the same stamina.
A long term commitment, not a short term thing.
That's what worries me. They don't get #1 by being the best, they get to #1 because they can lose money for years and drive the competition to the ground. Look at the Xbox and Xbox 360 as a perfect example. They're still in the red, no a single cent of profit from the two consoles.

Just got here to Brea an there's about 20 or so in line. Hopefully we can get some update on inventory levels. They didn't sell any yesterday but I don't know if that's because they didn't get any or chose to hold them for today.

Three to four bars of 3G at my house in suburban Detroit and I'm lucky if I can make a call and if I can, half the time it's dropped. And nobody can hear me anyway. I rarely receive calls and the missed call and voice-mails notifications don't show up till I leave home. Had Verizon for years and I can't remember ever dropping a call anywhere. But I love my iPhone and never did like Verizon.

I worked at McDonald's for a couple months when I was in high school. I was never "trained" not to intervene in conflicts. It never even came up.
But just being who I am I can tell you right now I would've thrown those bi***** through those windows if I saw them molly whopping on an individual who wasn't fighting back.

They're really shy at first, like any animal. But when they warm up to you they are extremely loving and loyal but they get jealous if there are other animals around that get any attention.
I had one before with an ex and we had him in an apartment, no problem. He was very easy to train and I was extremely impressed by that. They aren't loud by any means and in this case they max out at 12" from the front paws to the back of the head and weigh ~12 lbs.
