My Xbox 360 still works great even though the new one has been announced and they are not making me buy it :)
Though someone who wants and HDMI 360 and a bigger hard drive has a version they can buy now. I don't see what's wrong with that. More options for the customer....people wanted it and Microsoft gave it to them. They could have done a few more things but overall it's an upgrade.
The biggest news to me is this:
"A standalone $179.99 HDD also ships April 29. This package includes one 120GB HDD, software, and a specialized cable to port data from a user's current hard drive to the new one."
I can upgrade my hard drive , TRANSFER MY CURRENT DATA FROM THE 20GB HARD DRIVE, and start downloading a lot more from the Marketplace. That's excellent!
I am with you. More options for the customer is always good.

From the 'Steve Jobs boasting' rumors earlier, it would seem to suggest that the iPhone is way better than anything out there, so I wouldn't be surprised to see some form of pocket apps in a business version (a la PocketPC pda phones), with just itunes & other stuff in a standard consumer version.
Any thoughts on ipod accessory compatibility - like will the nike+ module just fit into the bottom of the iphone like it does on the nano?
That is true. If it were just a phone and he was trying to squeak into the market, he might not be boasting so much.
And wow that would be SO crazy awesome if the Nike thing did work with the phone. Good thought. I hope they do have some comptability...and imagine the form factor it would take, I would assume it might with at least earphones and chargers.

I've been waiting 3 weeks to buy a MBP assuming at least that iLife 07 would be announced today.
It may be there that never will be an iLife 07. Apple may decide to include it with Leopard.

That was a shocking session from Australian but brilliant bowling from Flintoff.
This next session is going to be VERY crucial for both sides. This is great stuff!

Thanks for posting this. EyeTV has been able to stream recorded content for a long time, but being able to stream live TV is more useful to me. CyTV will stream it to a laptop, but it's clunky and problematic so I shelled out the $5 hoping that this works better.

This doesn't make your point valid in any sense. Please learn logic and debating abilities.
You think putting the Iphone 3GS (which is eclipsed in hardware by phones well over a year old) up against current mobile offerings in the Android space is a valid defense of....anything? Really?
There are already brand new Android phones with dual core A9's.....

Why is their no looting in Japan?
the answer is very simple ... The population of Japan is made up of mostly Japanese culture.
The guy on CNN last night summed it up best ... there is a bit of looting ... and it is being committed by foreigners.

No problems with the update on the Mac Pro here...
this deleted my camino bookmarks... they are apparently now in an unreadable format.
This is a Camino bug I believe
Probably this one (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=337750). I've been backing up my bookmarks for awhile now just in case and am using an optimized nightly build with extra logging enabled in the event it does happen (they can obtain more info to find out what is causing it).

AARRRGGHHHH!!!! I STILL can't get an answer if the iPads2's that I ordered at 7:30 AM on 3/11 will ship before April 1-6.... It's like trying to pull teeth out of an angry, virile cat.
Does anyone know what "Prepared for Shipment" means in Apple-Speak??
Dude - this is good. Today, mine went from "Not Yet Shipped" to "Prepared for Shipment." I'm in the same timeframe as you.

It's things like this that give American people a stereotypically dumb aura...
Things like the forum replies, or like "Will it blend?"?
The "Will it blend?"-series is pure genius. It is not some random Joe smashing stuff, it is a for-profit company spending very few dollars and getting extremely wide coverage.

Ahem. Anyone who says that Yale is "square" and Harvard is not has obviously never experienced the two colleges. And yes, I can say this because I am a Yale student who chose Yale over Harvard. Additionally, I really don't know what a "more comprehensive understanding of aesthetics" is, let alone what it has to do with mac usage. And, for the record, fully 35% of people here at Yale use Macs, and the large majority of freshmen I know who bought a new laptop got an MB or an MB pro. Also, I would argue that trying to paint Yale and Princeton with the same brush is also incorrect, and it is even more incorrect to paint Harvard and Columbia with the same brush. It is pointless to generalize ANY two colleges together, especially schools with such varying social, educational, and cultural philosophies.
EDIT: Oh, but don't take my word for any of this. I switched to Mac from Linux, so I guess I'm not a real Mac user.
Bravo.
Exactly, it is just a brand of computer... a tool if you will. Not a bloody religion which changes your whole mindset and world view to the point that you are prepared to strap bombs to your chest to "defend" it.
Switcheur... people who use this world sound more like poseurs to me if they honestly think the few extra grand they spent in their lifetimes on macs make them superior in any sense. Stop hiding behind Steve's skirt and go get a real peen enlargement you loser

If those are fake, I sure hope Apple implements something along the lines of what those screen shots offer. Even if small. The anti-phishing stuff would've been awesome like 3 months ago for me... BUT HEY YOU LEARN!

The real question is, how does apple expect to sell the new Mac Pro when so many of the apps that PROs use are not universal and will be slower than they are on current power macs. Why not just get a refurb to tide you over?
I know they have to release these I'm just saying that it's going to be a hard marketing sell for a lot of people.
We have graphic artists using new Macbook Pros, they didn't know what Rosetta was, they just know Photoshop flies on the new machines. They don't care about Universal versions of software, they care about working fast and efficiently. They all love the new Macbook Pros.

This was exactly what I was thinking! But I did it anyway. 93 deg. F to 114 deg. F.
With all due respect, isn't that a firmware DOWNGRADE?

But the ability for regular people to come together in a real time of need or crisis is still present.
The real test is how people act when not compelled by crisis.
While it's comforting to know that we can forget about our differences when we fear for our lives, why do we so easily let those differences flare up again and divide us when a crisis subsides?
The weak don't survive.
I don't believe that at all. America is filled with weak people. They seem to be surviving just fine.

Magnesium is seldom used in its' pure form. It is almost always used as an alloy (mixed with other metals). It can be very brittle, or even soft, depending on how the alloy is crafted. If you have ever seen a picture of an airplane landing and the wheel is on fire, airplane wheel components are often made with magnesium. Magnesium fires are very dangerous to put out. Directly spraying water on burning magnesium usually will result in an explosion. However, starting fire to magnesium is much harder than some here have suggested.
As for cost, magnesium is more expensive than commercial grade aluminum. However, it is a very good metal to CAST. So, you can cast a part in magnesium that requires very little finish machining, as opposed to other material that are formed by bending sheet metal, or machining it from solid stock.
Finally, phosphorous is a magnesium product, or a very similar substance (do not remember exactly) which we are all familiar with. It is used in sparklers, road flares, smoke bombs (grenades), etc. It is unusual in that it produces its own oxygen when burning. That is why it can be immersed in water and still burn. The heat is too extreme for the water to cool it and the water cannot smother it because it does not require air.

When you copy files and some already exist, rather than terminating the action with no clue what was the hold-up, complete it with a list of exceptions for dealing with as a separate matter.
This.
Also, a new user interface (or modified current interface most likely) would be nice. I'd like to see some ground breaking stuff too (that doesn't require me going to to buy a new machine to handle it).
Overall though, I'm extremely pleased with Snow Leopard, even if they just keep everything the same and add some features, I'd be happy.
